From bricked-over segregated entrances to the gravesites of lynching victims, &#8220;these places surround us and we don&#8217;t realize it,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/av-embeds\/55897250\/vpid\/p095w6xd\" width=\"750\" height=\"490\" frameborder=\"0\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m just fascinated about what our landscape says about us as human beings,&#8221; explained the photographer. &#8220;I&#8217;m focused upon how these vestiges of racial oppression occur all over, and surround us. Photo by Rich Frishman<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p>The photographer pays particular attention to one of the most common details: covered-over side doors, originally intended as &#8220;colored entrances&#8221; that would force people of color to enter theaters, schools and other buildings separately from white people.
